Function and Use

The SN-13H water vapor transmission rate tester system is based on the test principle of infrared moisture sensor, and is designed and manufactured in accordance with ASTM F1249, ISO 15106-2 and other standards, providing high-precision and high-efficiency water vapor transmission rate testing for high and medium gas barrier materials. It is suitable for water vapor transmission rate testing of various plastic films, paper-plastic composite films, co-extruded films, aluminized films, aluminum foil composite films, glass fiber aluminum foil paper composite films and other film materials in the fields of food, medicine, medical equipment, daily chemicals, photovoltaics, electronics, etc., water vapor transmission rate testing of sheet materials such as PP sheets, PVC sheets, PVDC sheets, metal foil sheets, rubber sheets, silicon sheets and water vapor transmission performance testing of related materials.

 

Working Principle

Clamp the pre-treated sample between the test chambers, and nitrogen with stable relative humidity flows on one side of the film, and dry nitrogen flows on the other side of the film; due to the humidity difference, water vapor will diffuse from the high humidity side through the film to the low humidity side; on the low humidity side, the permeated water vapor is carried to the infrared moisture sensor by the flowing dry nitrogen, and different water vapor concentrations produce different light signals. The concentration value is obtained by analysis and calculation, and then the water vapor permeability of the sample is calculated.
