Introduction to Beijing Pharmaceutical Packaging Materials Inspection Institute

Beijing Pharmaceutical Packaging Materials Inspection Institute (Beijing Glass and Ceramic Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Station) was established in 2007. It is a professional pharmaceutical packaging material inspection agency established by the Beijing Municipal Drug Administration in accordance with the law. In 2017, the National Light Industry Glass Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center was added. It undertakes the inspection of pharmaceutical packaging materials used by pharmaceutical production units in the city; undertakes the registration inspection of pharmaceutical packaging materials in the fields of scientific research, production and circulation; and undertakes the inspection of products within the scope of qualifications. The available laboratory area is more than 4,700 square meters, with about 340 inspection equipment, including about 30 large equipment.

The Municipal Packaging Materials Institute has passed the CMA qualification certification and CNAS accreditation to undertake more than 670 items of inspection, covering the inspection capabilities of various materials such as glass, ceramics, plastics, rubber, metals, and paper. The scope of capabilities has met all pharmaceutical packaging materials, and meets the supervision and random inspection, risk monitoring and social commission business of plastic polymer materials, metals, and paper products of food-related products. In terms of capacity building, the Municipal Packaging Materials Institute undertakes the supervision sampling or risk monitoring of pharmaceutical packaging materials of the Beijing Municipal Drug Administration and the State Food and Drug Administration every year; it undertakes the supervision sampling and risk monitoring of food-related products of the Beijing Municipal Market Supervision Administration, the State Administration for Market Regulation and the market bureaus of brother provinces and cities. Over the years, it has adhered to the strategy of relying on scientific research and scientific research to support inspection, and gradually realized the transition from a single inspection to a scientific research inspection agency.
